Racking stock cars for over a half of a century at tracks up and down the Central Valley of California, in Nevada, and Oklahoma was Raymond's passion. Merced Speedway was his home track and his favorite place to race. Here he enjoyed competing with many family members including his brother Paul; nephews Billy, Mike, Richie, Nathan, and Dennis; and his two sons Jerry and Charlie. Many family members were a part of his pit crews and special place in the stands was known as "Corn's Corner" for all his family and friends to cheer him on.
Raymond loved and supported his large family. He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Rachel Corn; his siblings Anna, Norma Jean, Virginia, and Paul; and eldest son Clifford.
Married for 64 years, he is survived by his wife Patsy Corn; two daughters Susan and Virginia; five sons David, Frank, Raymond Jr., Jerry, and Charlie; twenty-eight grandchildren; and forty-seven great grandchildren.
While working for the Park Service in Yosemite his family lived in Planada, El Nido, El Portal, and Modesto. After his retirement they moved to his birth state of Oklahoma. They resided in Okmulgee, Oklahoma for over thirty years where he continued to race stock cars and enjoyed gardening on his farm. For the last three years, Raymond and Patsy have lived in Planada, California where he continued to garden, build a race car, and was often a spectator in the stands at Merced Speedway.
